Book club

Co-op’s book clubs are open to anyone looking to share ideas and community. These groups are a way to come together and have thoughtful conversations about things that matter. Whether you’re raising kids, chasing after the big questions, or just love a good novel, there’s a space for you here.

Fiction club

Dates to be announced soon!
Co-op Lounge at CAMPO in Guiones

In this group, we'll explore literature that attunes us to the subtleties of identity, memory, intimacy, and perception, reading the likes of Virginia Woolf, Jhumpa Lahiri, and Elena Ferrante. Each session begins with a shared ritual: participants bring a brief passage that resonates—just a few lines—and read it aloud to help us set the tone. Our inaugural season centers on women writers whose voices span continents and centuries, often bending genre and defying convention. Their work offers exquisite renderings of interior life, turning inward and outward at once—deepening our inner awareness and simultaneously expanding the scope of our empathy.

We’re beginning with My Brilliant Friend, by Elena Ferrante—a powerfully intimate look into friendship, memory, and becoming. Other contenders in our unfolding journey include To the Lighthouse, Whereabouts, Pride and Prejudice, and Fever Dream—but the path can meander.

Consciousness
explorers club

Dates to be announced soon!
Co-op Lounge at CAMPO in Guiones

This group is for those drawn to big, open-ended questions at the edge of understanding. We’ll explore consciousness through neuroscience, philosophy, cognitive science, and contemplative traditions—crossing disciplines and wisdom lineages. We’ll begin with clear, rigorous texts on how we perceive and know, then gradually expand into more esoteric terrain. Each session starts with a short grounding meditation, and may include audio, live Q&As, or other formats. More than answers, this is about loosening certainty and deepening awareness—an evolving, collective inquiry into what it means to know, to be, and to relate.

The first book is Analytical Idealism in a Nutshell. Other contenders include the likes of Donald Hoffman and Ken Wilber, but we’re open to input!

PARENTING CLUB

Starting May 21, 12:30pm
Co-op Lounge at CAMPO in Guiones

We’ll come together in a supportive environment to learn, share experiences, and gain insights that help us grow our parenting approaches and strengthen our families—and, in doing so, our community. This book club aims to empower families to discuss their needs and those of the broader community. Together, we create a judgment-free space where we can ask questions, learn with and from each other, and foster deeper connections.

We’ll start with The Anxious Generation, and the path will likely take us through The Whole Brian Child, Untangled, and The Tao of Parenting. Depending on the book and its length, we’ll organize our meetings to cover the book in several sessions.  (We do ask participants to have the reading done beforehand to make for a richer time together!)
